Project Information
This project was a 11,380 square foot, renovation and two-story ground up addition, on a pristine 400 acre nature site. VSI succeeded in building a strikingly beautiful nature center focused on public education in an environmentally sensitive area. Throughout the project, VSI and other participants were successful in investing significant time and resources to reduce the environmental impact of installing over 1700 lineal feet of water and sewer utility lines through an existing prairie grass field. Additionally, VSI insured that as many construction waste materials as possible were recycled, further enhancing the green success of this environmentally sensitive project. VSI also rose to the challenges of pushing the construction schedule through one of the coldest and snowiest winters on record, as well as a significant labor trade union strike in April.
